FAQ

Here is a list of frequently asked questions. Please contact me if you have questions which are not covered here.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes and take place once a week.  The regularity of weekly therapy, on the same day and time, is an important aspect of the work.

How long does therapy take?

Unless there are reasons to agree to a fixed number of sessions, I work in an open-ended way and will review progress with you over time.  You are free to end therapy at any time but I might advise working towards an ending, rather than ending abruptly.

Do you work online?

I either see clients in person or via Zoom.  For couples working online, it is ideal to join sessions from the same location, using the same device. The location will need to be private and confidential.

Is therapy confidential?

I abide by the Ethical Framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am committed to providing a confidential service to all my clients.  There may be exceptions to this if, for example, I believe there is a risk of serious harm to you or others, or if I have a legal obligation to disclose information.  But I would discuss this with you in advance.

How much do you charge?

My session fees are £85 for couples and £70 for individuals, unless otherwise agreed.  I will send you an invoice monthly, in arrears.

What areas do you cover?

Nearby locations include Ashtead, Byfleet, Claygate, Cobham, East Molesey, Epsom, Esher, Hampton, Kingston-upon-Thames, Leatherhead, Oxshott, Shepperton, Sunbury, Surbiton, Teddington, Thames Ditton, Walton-on-Thames, West Byfleet, West Molesey, Weybridge and Woking.

I also work in Central London and, in addition, I see clients online from any location.
